Analyze False Color on iPad with Affinity Photo

May 21, 2019

I get this question a lot.

How to get the False Color on my iPad?

In this post I will show you one way to do it using our False Color OFX plugin and Affinity Photo for iPad.

What you will need:

  1. False Color OFX plugin
  2. Affinity Photo for iPad
  3. DaVinci Resolve (free)

Create False Color 3D LUT

We will create a False Color overlay in our OFX plugin and export it as *.CUBE.

Export False Color 3D LUT Save the file somewhere in your iCloud so that we can access it easily from Affinity Photo on iPad.

Import 3D LUT in Affinity Photo on iPad

Now, let’s move on to the iPad. Open an image and locate the adjustments button:

Find the LUT adjustment, select it and use the Load button. Navigate to the 3D LUT file we saved in our iCloud directory and this is what you should see:

Other options

You could also do the same using Adobe Premiere Pro & AE plugin and export a 3D LUT file from Premiere Pro or After Effects. The rest stays the same.
