FEATURES version 2.1

 Customization

All the plugin’s parameters are fully customizable. You can change the luminosity range values as well as the colors representation of each range. On top of that you can set the transparency of the plugin overlay.

 Flexibility

Available options give you flexibility to adjust the settings to your preferences. You can configure the plugin specifically to the type of footage you work with or to the existing tools you use on a daily basis.

 Presets

The plugin features 3 built-in presets based on the industry standard tools (Flanders, SmallHD, RED, Atomos, ARRI). There are also a number of preconfigured presets for skin tones separation as well as highlights and shadows overlay only.

 Your own presets

When you create your own preset there’s an easy way to save it. Just use the Power Grade gallery in DaVinci Resolve and the preset will be available in any future project you will be working on.

 Industry standard

False Color overlays that you are familiar with. The plugin Features 5 built-in false color overlays: RED, Flanders and SmallHD, ARRI & Atomos.

 Highlights

The plugin features a special preset for selecting only the highlights. It’s useful when you want to protect the highlights and keep the consistently below a certain threshold. Using the plugin you can immediately see when some of the pixels in the image exceed the set luminosity values.

  Shadows under control

There is also one mode that draws an overlay on top of the shadows below a certain point. This helps you keep the shadows under control and see right away what areas are getting too dark.

FAQ

The plugin is not showing up in the OpenFX tab, how to fix it?

The most common issue is related to the filesystem permissions. There are two ways to fix it.

  1. Grant the administrative rights to the current user in your system so that it can access the plugin
  2. Change the filesystem permissions so that the regular user can access the plugin

On OS X you need to navigate to the below location and make sure it’s accessible by the current user:

/Library/OFX/Plugins/tomasz_cc.ofx.bundle

In case you cannot access the file from the finder right click the Plugins directory and select Get Info. Then use the Permissions section to enable your user to read this directory with its contents.

How to save my custom preset in DaVinci Resolve?

Make sure you are in the Color tab, open the Gallery window on the left side and select PowerGrade node. Then right click on the viewer with your footage and select Grab Still.

power_grade

This way your preset is saved as a PowerGrade within DaVinci Resolve and will be available in any project you open with the program.

To apply it to the current clip just middle click the icon within PowerGrade window.

Does the plugin support ACES color science?

No. Currently the plugin supports only YRGB but ACES is on the TODO list so it will be implemented at some point in the future.
